WELCOME TO LOSEPTA
Lake Oswego Special Education Parents, Training & Advocacy (LOSEPTA) is a group of parents of children with special needs in the Lake Oswego School District in Lake Oswego, Oregon. We recognize that every child deserves excellence in education and quality of life. We are committed to serving the special education student and their families by:
Providing vital information and support to parents through sponsorship of forums, discussion groups and workshops in order to enhance parents' efforts to maximize the potential of their children;
Training parents to be partners in education through networking opportunities with teachers, educators and other professionals;
Creating a mutually supportive environment for parents of both younger and older special education students to share experiences, resources, and expertise;
Advocating for the issues affecting special education students and their families.
Our organization is open to all parents/guardians, grandparents, educators, therapists and any one interested in the education of children with special needs in the Lake Oswego School District.
LOSEPTA does not endorse any one placement—that decision is between the parents/guardians, the student and the IEP team. LOSEPTA conducts several meetings per year that are open to everyone. We will publish the meeting times and locations on this web site or you can find out about them by signing up for the Lake Oswego School District Special Education ListServ.
